What we keep, and what we refuse to keep.

Who this covers

PrayerLane is operated by Comp Edge Solutions, located in Montgomery County, Ohio, United States. This policy covers two different groups of people:

• Churches and organizations that use PrayerLane to run a prayer request form.
• Visitors who submit a prayer request through a form that a church has placed on its website.

Prayer requests

When someone submits a prayer request through a PrayerLane form, the text of that request passes through our server in memory, is delivered directly to the church's own prayer platform, and is then gone. It is not written to a database, not written to a file, not written to an application log, and not included in any backup. Nobody at Comp Edge Solutions can read it, because there is no copy to read and no screen anywhere in the product that could display one.

For each submission we record only the following:

• Which form it came through, and the date and time.
• Whether delivery succeeded, was blocked as spam, was rate limited, failed validation, or failed upstream.
• A spam score, which is a number.
• A one-way hash of the sender's network address, salted with a secret only our server holds. We keep this so that a single source cannot flood a church with submissions. The address itself is never stored, and the hash cannot be turned back into an address by us or by anyone else.
• The identifier the church's prayer platform returned for the delivered request, so a delivery can be traced if a church asks whether something arrived.

Names, email addresses, and the request itself are not part of that record.

Once the request is delivered

The delivered copy lives in the church's own prayer platform, under that platform's privacy policy and under the church's own practices for handling what its congregation shares. That copy is outside our control and outside this policy. If you have submitted a prayer request and want it removed, contact the church you sent it to.

Churches using PrayerLane

For each customer we store the organization name, the contact details of the people who administer the account, the settings of each form, and the credentials the church supplies for its own prayer platform. Those credentials are stored so that delivery can happen server to server, which is what keeps them out of the church's public web pages. They are used for nothing else and are never shared.

The waitlist form on this website

If you join the waitlist, we store the name, email address, organization, prayer platform, and note you provide, along with a salted hash of your network address and the page you arrived from. We use it to talk with you about PrayerLane. We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or add you to a newsletter you did not ask for. Ask us and we will delete it.

Cookies and third parties

• This marketing website sets no advertising or analytics cookies of its own.
• Headings on this site use the Overpass typeface served by Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those font files from Google and Google therefore sees your network address as part of that request.
• Public forms may be protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which sets its own cookies and is governed by Google's privacy policy and terms. It is used to tell people from automated traffic, and for nothing else.
• Our internal administration tools set a session cookie. It applies only to logged-in staff.

How long we keep things

Delivery records are kept while a church's account is open, and are removed when an account is closed. Waitlist entries are kept until the person asks us to remove them or until they are clearly no longer relevant. Prayer request text is kept for no time at all, because it is never written down.

Where your data is

PrayerLane runs on servers in the United States. Delivery to a church's prayer platform goes wherever that platform is hosted.

Security

Traffic to and from PrayerLane is encrypted in transit. Platform secrets are held outside the web root and are never in our source code repository. Prayer platform credentials are not exposed to browsers. Network addresses are hashed rather than stored. No system is perfect, and we will tell affected customers promptly if something goes wrong.

Children

PrayerLane is sold to organizations, not to individuals, and is not directed at children. A church remains responsible for how it collects prayer requests from minors in its own ministry.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell our customers. The commitment not to store prayer request text is load bearing and is not something we intend to weaken.
